Between play and control, between harmony and chaos. This is where you’ll find this new dance piece by Guy Nader and María Campos, in which they translate the complexity of nature – seen as the union of many different organisms – into movement.
Just as particles move with extreme precision yet in an unpredictable and seemingly random way, this piece is the physical result of a research process embodied by the nine dancers on stage. They are constantly reorganising and reinventing themselves, always searching for balance and perfection. Perhaps this is a demonstration of resilience against the chaos that is the inevitable fate of all physical systems?
Material and sonic elements provide the collective organism with substance while, on stage, they dance to music composed by Coti K. The repetitive rhythmic patterns of the score give a sense of organised chaos – a kind of ode to life and its fragile environment.
Natural Order of Things recently received the MAX Awards 2025 for Best Choreography, Best Female Dancer (Maria Campos), and Best Male Dancer (Alfonso Aguilar).
