SYNOPSIS

The truth is, we didn’t set out to create a piece – we just wanted to dance and lose our minds. We could have made different choices, been different people, done something else with our lives… but we got hooked on dance. So much so that we crossed that threshold where you no longer know whether you’ve wasted your time, or whether what you do serves any purpose at all.

Hearts, desires, rubber bands, pain, smoke, techno, gunshots, night-time, betrayal. PERDÓN (Sorry) is a declaration of both love and hate for dance. A piece that explores limits: the limits of artistic creation, dance, the freedom of the performer on stage and their relationship with the audience; the limits of discomfort — and even the limit of rubber bands. Limits as an artistic manifesto, or a privileged space for surprise and provocation, where what is beautiful can become grotesque or a sign of vulnerability.

Avoiding victimhood and moralism, and without preconceptions about good, evil, beauty or boredom, we put our hearts on our sleeves to say: this is who we are, and this is proof that you can danse, with humour, and with spelling mistakes. (And yes, this is another synopsis that doesn’t clarify anything. Sorry.)

BACKGROUND

Losinformalls was founded by Luis García and Pere Joseph in 2019, although they have been collaborating artistically since around 2008, when they formed their first collective, Elenigmadelafruta. It was there that they unknowingly laid the foundations of what would later become Losinformalls: a performing arts company that navigates the boundaries between dance, theatre, and the unexplored.

It is a platform for artistic creation in all its forms, representing a lifestyle based on movement, humour and social unrest, while defending art that is socially aware and accessible.

As Losinformalls they have premiered four pieces: Entrañas con patatas (2020), Aperitivo (2021), ESO (2021), and PERDÓN (2024). They have also developed their own participatory stage format, the “Informal Stage.” They have performed these pieces on stages of varying sizes and formats, from festivals to major theatres, including Sismògraf Festival, Mercat de les Flors, MAC Festival, Danseu Festival, Xarxa de Teatres Alternatius, Especial Espai de Dansa and Sala Cuarta Pared.

Their empathetic language both on and off stage enables them to connect their imaginative universe with both general audiences and the professional sector.
